A SPLENDID RUIN by Megan Chance
Description
I confess, A SPLENDID RUIN by Megan Chance checked the boxes for me. I love a heroine who is initially
TSTL (too stupid to live) who learns from her experiences and by the end of the book is smarter, stronger, better, richer and triumphs over evil. That kind of heroine reminds me, who is so often TSTL, that it’s possible for me to improve and grow as a person. Framed by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, May Kimble’s story is a snapshot of elegant society and how the earthquake and fire changed the city and gave May the chance she needed to free herself, gain revenge on the family who had destroyed her, and take control of her life. A SPLENDID RUIN entertained me during my one-sitting read.
P.S. Have you ever seen such a gorgeous cover? I have serious cover envy.
