Dirty Hands, Lovely Librarians and a Story

— March 27 THE WOMAN WHO COULDN’T SCREAM in paperback/reduced eBook prices
— A quick and wonderful story for you
Here in Washington state, spring has made a sudden leap into our lives with weirdly warm temperatures (60s!) and a big yellow globe in the sky…it rises in the east and makes everything bright…I think it’s called the “sun.” This led The Husband and I to go out to the garden and plant peas, radishes, spinach and carrots. I love getting dirt under my fingernails!
But I’m going to have to take off the boots, put away the trowel and clean up, because soon glam things are happening.
You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide…Me, PLA, and Philadelphia
Last month, my publisher sent me to American Library Association in Denver (click for photos and gushing.) This month, I’m attending the Public Library Association in Philadelphia! If you’re a librarian attending the conference, my events include:
Thursday, March 22, 4-5pm
Autographing arcs of DEAD GIRL RUNNING in the HQN Booth #1211.
Friday, March 23, from 10:45-11:45am
Mystery Authors Panel (come with questions!), afterward autographing DEAD GIRL RUNNING arcs. Nutter Theater/Room 114
Arcs are included in the cost of registration, and I’ll give out a lavender sachet with every arc…until I run out. If you can, please come early! I’m looking forward to a wonderful time visiting with librarians and friends at PLA.
…But what if you’re not a librarian? You’re in such luck! DEAD GIRL RUNNING comes out at the end of April, and I’m crossing the U.S. making bookstore appearances and, yes, my first appearance in Canada! Will I come to your town? Watch for updates and details on my Appearances page.
THE WOMAN WHO COULDN’T SCREAM in paperback!
Good news for those of you who have been waiting impatiently. On March 27, THE WOMAN WHO COULDN’T SCREAM will be out in paperback and with reduced eBook prices. As a bonus, it includes a chapter of DEAD GIRL RUNNING! So go ahead and pre-order the paperback online or from your favorite bookseller, but (whispers) wait a couple of weeks to buy the eBook.
Finally, a quick and wonderful story
THE WOMAN WHO COULDN’T SCREAM is on a BookBub list you might enjoy, 14 New Romantic Suspense Novels to Read This Winter. When a reader told me about it, I suggested the list should come with a wallet warning. She said, “It’s a good thing I only have a book weakness… Imagine if it was a weakness for miracle skin creams! I’d be broke.”
Isn’t this the best philosophy about book buying and reading you’ve ever heard? Don’t you think someone (not me) should embroider it on a pillow?
Happy gardening, happy family, happy working: may you find happiness in your life. Most of all, happy reading!

“According to a new survey, women say they feel more comfortable undressing in front of men than they do undressing in front of other women. They say that women are too judgmental, where, of course, men are just grateful.” — Jay Leno
