I was texting with The Daughter about filming a promotion video for the July 2026 release TEACH THE TORCHES TO BURN. She starts:

FYI, the reason her generation killed the napkin industry is because they don’t use napkins except on special occasions. They use paper towels.
The ridiculous stuff that lands on the internet… Worse, I remember it when what I really need is to use all my brain cells to plot a story. One of my favorite all-time sayings is,
As I get older, every year there are more things I just don’t give a shit about. — Lawrence Block
Ain’t it the truth.

UPDATED Christina Dodd FAQ
Do you visit the Frequently Asked Questions on websites? I do. I love them because I always find out something that’s useful to me. When I actually took a week off from writing/promoting (remember the seven book releases in 2025? Yeah, that) between reading books and watching horror movies (because Halloween!) I wandered around my websites, saw the states of my FAQ pages, and gasped in horror. So!
On the ChristinaDodd.Com website, the FAQ is now up-to-date!
Do I know how to relax or what??? 🙄
I’m working on the FAQ for DaughterofMontague.Com now.
If you run across something on one of my websites that’s out of date or you find a broken link, please do let me know. You can write back to this newsletter address and it’ll get passed along to me, or you can go to a survey where there’s always a comment box and I’ll see it there. And thank you!

#1 Historical Mystery!
Prince Escalus, Rosie, and all the Montagues in Fair Verona are celebrating being #1 in historical mystery. 🥳 Thank you! 🎄🎅
FYI, MUCH ADO ABOUT MISTLETOE isn’t a mystery, it’s a heartwarming family Christmas novella. In October 2023, I visited Verona, the setting of Romeo and Juliet (my first and only trip to Italy!) and the Verona market is still thriving. The stalls are busy, it’s in a magnificent setting, and the Christmas market is reputed to be one of the best in Europe!
We loved Verona as a very walkable small city and, for the most part, it’s much less crowded than Venice or Florence, and thus more enjoyable. And the setting! ❤️

VIRTUE FALLS $2.99!
The first book in the Virtue Falls suspense series, appropriately called VIRTUE FALLS, is on a rare and wonderful e-sale.
For a limited time, VIRTUE FALLS is currently $2.99 on all online venues. If you have it in paper, this is a great opportunity to grab it in eBook for travel, and if you haven’t read it, VIRTUE FALLS is a book I’m very proud of. In fact, the whole series is brilliant. Yes, I know, but readers are still asking for more, so take the hint and enjoy your visit to the small, isolated, murderous coastal town of Virtue Falls.

Finally, it’s November so if you didn’t buy MUCH ADO ABOUT MISTLETOE because we hadn’t celebrated Halloween yet…You can now. 😊
The Husband and I are back in Washington as one storm after another sweeps in, bringing down the leaves in an awesome golden display and raining buckets, and the first clear day, we’ll be out planting garlic for harvest next July. Plan ahead and garlic will be your reward!
Until next time, happy reading!
